How do De-Funkers work?
They use a natural blend of sodium bicarbonate and bamboo charcoal to eliminate odours at the source, not just cover them up with heavy perfumes. Scented versions add a light, clean fragrance; the unscented option leaves nothing behind but freshness.
How long do they last?
With proper care, 6–12 months. Every 4–6 weeks, recharge them in direct sunlight for 6–8 hours to release trapped moisture and reactivate. Never microwave or wash.
Can I use them in wet or damp shoes?
No! Always use in dry shoes only. Dampness can cause the sodium bicarbonate to migrate and leave white residue. ⚠️ For best results: Use in dry shoes only. Not for damp or wet footwear.
What if I see white residue on my shoes?
This usually means the De-Funker was used in damp conditions. The residue is harmless sodium bicarbonate, but it signals it's time to replace the unit. Always store in the original ziplock bag when not in use.
